Phil Bullen arrived at the time arranged, was friendly, smiling and polite throughout, carried out the work with extreme competence, speed and efficiency, attending to every aspect with expertise, and then cleaned and tidied up everything perfectly. The job was completed and checked in just under the hour. I unreservedly recommend this chimney-sweeping service.

We are very pleased with our lovely woodburner.  It has warmed our usually chilly dining room really well and the heat keeps the hallway warm and cuts out the usual cold draught into the kitchen.  It may take some time to lose the last traces of fine soot which inevitably floated into as many corners as possible.  Not really surprising after 40 years of jackdaws! We are so glad you were able to come back this week and deal with a challenging project effectively.

We had our stove fitted in December, I can honestly it was a great investment.
From the very start, when I sent that first Facebook message the communication had been amazing, I sent quite a few emails asking some random questions all responses were prompt and informative.

Such a polite and efficient man. We recently moved into a project home and had no idea what to expect when getting our chimney swept. Thankfully all was well and a very reasonable price.

Based on other people’s recommendations, I chose Country Stoves and Sweeps for the first sweep on two log burners in a house I’ve just moved into. From the outset the communications from Kirstie were first rate, personable and informative. Phil who swept the chimneys was extremely considerate, polite and helpful. He was also very patient as he discovered that the stoves had been used wrongly by the previous owners and there was an awful lot of debris to deal with. A faultless service and one with personality, I’ll have them straight back after winter.

Had a wood burner installed 2 days ago. Very, very good customer service, amazing price and good value for money. Friendly staff, Julian and Kirstie have been amazing in helping us 10/10.

Just to say how much I am enjoying my new stove fitted quietly and efficiently by Julian and Darren on the 9th February, it is super.

Have found out how to keep the glass clean with damp newspaper just rub some wood ash on the paper and the soot fades away.

We are very pleased with the work. It is great to now have the option to either make a real fire with the log burner or at the push of a button have the new gas fire on.

We are really pleased with the stove and have put it to good use already. Thanks very much for an excellent service all round.

We lit the fire yesterday – well we had to despite the weather! I’m going to have to learn how this new fireplace behaves! It reacts completely differently from the open grate that we currently have in our back room and amazingly it was still alight when we came downstairs this morning. We do put a complete fireguard across the fire when we go to bed .

The fire is amazing and so nice. This is the first night I have had to enjoy it properly since it was installed. Let Julian know that I did have it on for a couple of hours last Thursday. May of had to have all windows and back door open.

We had our stove fitted in the Spring, we are really happy with the end result. The service was fantastic, we asked multiple questions by email and always got a prompt reply. It’s often hard to picture the end result so all of the advice and recommendations were very welcome. We have also used these guys to sweep our open fire and they were very efficient, not a speck of soot.

I have to say it was the most professional of installations.  We were fired up within three hours, and to be honest we lit it up again for the afternoon. We could not be more pleased. It looks fabulous. Daughter and son-in law can look forward, with confidence, to their installation.

We are delighted with our new stove – it looks great in the snug and when lit and going well, it is beautiful.  (Despite the warm weather we have had over the weekend, we have been having it lit as we couldn’t resist a play with our new toy!).  Difficult to tell how much difference it will make to the heat in the room as it has been so mild, but it was certainly toasty in there on Sunday night, so we are really hopeful it will make  a big difference.  Thank you to you and Julian for providing such a great service – I will be contacting you next year for the service package.

I am indeed over the moon with the new stove. Peter is in Beijing until Friday so hasn’t yet seen it in the flesh!  I must say, I’m amazed at the efficiency and the heat output too.  

I was very impressed with the standard of work by Graham and Terry. They were very quick and I particularly loved that they were so respectful of our property and laid sheets everywhere and also cleaned up really well after each visit….something I was a tad worried about!  Julian & Darren were very quick workers too and I was amazed that the job was finished before lunchtime! I also found dealing with you really easy too, Kirstie and thanks for arranging the schedule so efficiently.  I’d like to arrange the chimney sweep appointment for sometime in August…one Friday morning would be good.

We would like to thank you guys for our wonderful new stove which we have had burning non-stop since installation! We absolutely love it! Julian was extremely professional & we will highly recommend you guys to everyone 🙂

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank Country Stoves and Sweeps for the absolutely fantastic job that was done. We originally met Julian November last year and immediately felt he knew his stuff. We had no idea how to proceed with our – somewhat unique fireplace, but he came up with some amazing suggestions. The quote that quickly followed was pretty good too.

The remodelling began in February with the removal of our old Gas Fire and Back boiler. The Gas engineer even Serviced our Combi Boiler whilst he was here!

Afterwards came the building work, completed by Graham (whom we got on with like a house on fire – he is a top bloke!). He quickly dismantled the old (and actually not attached to the wall in any way) brick fireplace to reveal 2 rather large and rather tatty looking spaces. Where I was shocked at the amount of work required, he took this in his stride and listed exactly what he was going to do. The building work took 6 days to complete overall – there were ups and downs (like the unexpected Iron Gas pipe whoever build the old fireplace cleverly hid) but the result was nothing short of amazing. Even after a couple of days, we could see the potential.

The day after the building work was completed, Julian and Darren arrived to fit the Wood Stove, Flue and new Chimney. They worked like a well-oiled machine – complementing each other very well. The fit went amazingly well and just over 3 hours later, out first fire was lit.

Overall, the standard of work was incredible and the service we received was second to none. I can’t thank you enough for the fantastic effort put in to the project – the final photo shows just how amazing the job was. I look forward to recommending you to whoever I know that is thinking of getting a wood stove!

Julian and Darren were great, (glad they enjoyed the tea and biscuits), and you can tell them that I have washed the carpet and rug, and cleaned the furniture, so now all trace of soot has been eradicated lol.  Lucy and Tess were also keen to help them which Julian didn’t mind, but Darren was less enthusiastic. I did offer Lucy as an apprentice, but not sure she’s a good candidate lol.

I will definitely be bragging about my lovely stove, and would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone who could benefit from your services.  We will certainly be in touch next year, probably summertime to get the chimney swept again, and then regularly around that time each year.

Myself and my husband would like to thank both Julian, Kirstie and their team for opening up our fireplace, lining our chimney and installing our Arrow stove.
One thing I must say is that it was brilliant to have Julian come round and take a look at what we wanted to do and give us his professional opinion, especially when it came to deciding on the stove. Julian also gave us an idea of what would happen, showing us stoves, hearths and mantelpieces they had previously installed, which was great to see and we where able to see more of their work when Kirstie sent through our quote and information pack. The work carried out was over three days and the men did a fantastic job, we are both extremely pleased with everything country stoves have done, having the log burner has really added character and warmth to our living room, making it a really lovely place to sit on a cold evening. We used Country Stoves and Sweeps to sweep our chimney after we moved into our new home. Phil arrived to sweep the chimney and he was excellent, there was no mess and was very knowledgeable and helpful. As a result of Phil coming we found out that the previous owner hadn’t had the log burner installed correctly. Because of the service from Phil we decided to use Country Stoves and Sweeps to carry out the work to correctly fit the log burner. Julian attended and gave us a quote and advice on what we needed. Julian and Darren arrived and made sure they worked cleanly, laying down dust sheets. They finished the work after a few hours and left leaving well fitted and SAFE log fire and no mess anywhere!! They even lit the fire and gave us a bag of logs! I would thoroughly recommend Country Stoves and Sweeps to anyone wanting a clean and professional job! It was a pleasure to deal with a local family business

We couldn’t be more pleased. Once the fire was going we didn’t move from it! Thanks again for the great service. I spoke to my friend last night & she is going to indulge in some toe toasting & I’m sure will contact you shortly. She’s planning to have the chimney modified & hopes to be able to have a stove fitted in the Summer.

After our first winter in our cottage last year we decided that a log-burner was a must as we have no insulation and the house was very cold. We got a few quotes & Julian’s was very competitive, we also felt that he was the most honest and upfront with us about the work that needed doing. He has explained everything to us clearly every step of the way and has left the house clean and tidy after all the work he’s done. The end result looks fantastic and we are secretly hoping for winter to come round quick so we can get the log-burner up & running! I would happily recommend Julian to my friends and family.
